About the City:
Known as the "Bicycle Capital of the Northwest", Redmond Washington is a city of approximately 59,000 people located 16 miles east of Seattle, Washington. Redmond is best known for its lush green landscape and the home of Microsoft and Nintendo America. The high percentage of high income tech employees in the city makes it a high per capita area. Due to the affluent population and the style of the houses and public buildings makes Redmond a nice suburban feel.
There is a large annual bicycle race on city streets and it has the state's only velodrome which is an indoor cycling track. Demographics:

Economy:
The city is primarily focused on the high technology industry with Microsoft being the largest employer with approximately 95,000 employees and over 8 million sq ft of office space in the greater Seattle area, mostly in Redmond. In addition Nintendo USA houses its headquarters in Redmond as well. The city has a historic downtown which contains mostly individual small businesses and shops.
Things to Do:
The city has a large bicycle race through the heart of the city every year and there is the state's only indoor professional cycling track.
There is an annual community festival in July called the Redmond Derby Days which is a multi-day fair with a bicycle criterium, carnival, parade and live bands. There is an annual summer concert series called the Concerts at Marymoor which has featured top rated artists such as Norah Jones, Duran Duran, and Rob Thomas. The city is well known for its lush hiking trails and captivating parks with 23 public ones to choose from. You can also enjoy horseback riding, cycling and rock climbing.
